Stages reports

Step 1 - Substantiating and putting into practice solutions for manufacturing functional textile products designed for people who are prone to accidents and for preventing some occupational diseases

                                ;

Carried out activities:

Activity 1:  Evaluating and diagnosing global, European and national tendencies concerning the manufacturing technologies, areas of use and specific norms pertaining to the textile products designed for people who are prone to accidents and for preventing occupational diseases;

Activity 2:  Identifying comfort/physical mechanical requirements and characteristics of functional textile products designed for people who are prone to accidents and for preventing some occupational diseases;

Activity 3:  Identifying and defining the target group which will benefit from the textile products designed for people who are prone to accidents and for preventing some occupational diseases;

Activity 4:  Analysing the relevant technological novelties, identifying product design concepts and technical solutions for manufacturing and creating new textile structures and models at laboratory level;

Activities 5 and 6:  - Selecting raw materials, fabrics, equipments, components, machines and all the necessary accessories in order to manufacture and assess new structures and models of knitted or made up products used for creating protection equipments for people who are prone to accidents and for preventing occupational diseases;

Activity 7:  The technological design and manufacturing of various structures and models that are obtained by knitting or assembling techniques and are used for creating protection products targeting people who are prone to accidents or who suffer from occupational diseases;

Activity 8:  Evaluating technologies for manufacturing new types of models and textile structures that are incorporated into knitted or assembled textile products/articles – functional models;

Activity 9:  Assessing and demonstrating the functionality of new structures and models for textile products/articles targeting people who are prone to accidents and for preventing some occupational diseases, by means of laboratory tests; selecting the most appropriate variations;

Activity 10:  Disseminating objectives and project results.

Results

1. Reports/studies of evaluation and research;

2. Technical documentation for designing and manufacturing knitted structures and models;

3. Functional models:

     - 4 variations of knitted structures and models designed for protecting the upper limbs;

     - 6 variations of knitted structures and models designed for protecting the lower limbs;

     - 3 variations of tights and 4 variations of modular elements for protecting against accidents;

4. 2 laboratory experimental methods – for testing the behaviour of textile materials in order to withstand shock and cutting (axial rigidity);

5. 2 co-publications;

6. Project web page.

Stage 2 - The development of textile products for people who are exposed to accidents and for preventing some occupational diseases

Carried out activities:

Activity 1:  We established the technological processes, the execution parameters, and the constructive solutions in order to manufacture new textile articles/products, depending on the utilisation requirements – functional models;

Activity 2:  We elaborated techniques (procedures) in order to evaluate the performance of the new products depending on their destination – functional models;

Activity 3:  We designed and manufactured textile articles/products for people who are exposed to accidents and for preventing some occupational diseases;

Activity 4:  We conducted laboratory evaluations and tests with the purpose of demonstrating the functionality of the new textile products and of selecting the optimal versions; furthermore, tests enabled us to identify the specific functional parameters and to highlight their contribution to improving comfort when the developed products are used;

Activity 5:  We designed and manufactured versions of the partial prototype;

Activity 6:  We identified and took the necessary steps to ensure the protection and preservation of the intellectual property;

Activity 7:  We disseminated the objectives and results of the project.

Results

1. Technical reports;

2. Procedures/methods of evaluation;

3. Technical and technological documentation for manufacturing products;

4. Evaluation/testing reports;

5. Products:

     - 9 versions of functional models representing textile products manufactured by applying a technological process of knitting with dyed yarns;

     - 2 versions of functional models representing textile products manufactured through a technological process of knitting with raw yarns;

     - 2 versions of functional models from which 4 samples were manufactured, suitable for two age groups, representing textile products obtained through a technological process of making-up;

     - 2 versions of prototype models – upper limb orthosis; aiming to prevent and cure some occupational diseases which affect the upper limbs;

6. We submitted an application in order to acquire a patent for invention at OSIM, registered under no. A/00721/26.09.2018, entitled „Method of Manufacturing Some Multifunctional Orthosis";
